Vector Partners is a boutique advisory firm providing high quality, tailor-made financial advice in Greece, Turkey and the surrounding region.

The firm has been set up by professionals with decades of experience from leading institutions in the international financial and capital markets.

Our international experience, our knowledge and understanding of the Greek and regional markets, together with our direct access to many of the leading local companies, financial institutions and financial sponsors, come together to provide world class outcomes to complex transactions.


Addressing a specific need

In smaller regional markets the main sources of corporate finance advice tend to be local banks and brokerage houses. While these institutions may have local market knowledge, they often lack the background and experience to provide the necessary professional rigour, methods and standards demanded by international clients and multi-national corporations.

On the other hand, international investment banks sometimes get involved on larger transactions; however, their heavy corporate structures often limit senior involvement and agile response. This creates a niche for Vector Partners.

Geographical focus

Our main markets of focus are Greece, Turkey and the Balkans. Geographical proximity, regional market conditions, our local networks and the synergies available have made these markets the natural area of expertise for us.

Our edge

As a boutique firm with finite resources and a commitment to quality, Vector Partners works on only a limited number of select assignments. This allows us to dedicate senior resource to our clients at all times, and through all phases of a project.

We thrive on complex and complicated assignments. Our core team

The Vector Partners team have enjoyed extended careers at senior levels of global investment banks before coming together to form the company. The team combines many decades of experience in corporate finance advisory work.
Vector Partners currently comprises two principals, Andreas Zombanakis and Markos Komondouros, and Marika Rella, a highly experienced partner.

  • Andreas Zombanakis
    Andreas Zombanakis has over 30 years experience in investment banking and private equity. He began his career with Bankers Trust in London, where he was initially involved in financing large commercial Real Estate developments. He went on to join a group that developed the Credit Derivatives market and subsequently became Managing Director in Bankers Trust's Leveraged Buyout Group. At the time of Bankers Trust's acquisition by Deutsche Bank, he was Group Credit Officer responsible for the Bank's lending and derivatives exposures in continental Europe. At Deutsche Bank, he was a founding partner of DB Capital Partners, Deutsche Bank's private equity division, with over €10 billion in assets under management.

    Andreas co-founded Vector Partners in 2006 and went on to co-found the Heliogenesis/ENEXON group of companies, a leading developer of photovoltaic plants in Greece, which was sold to ENEL GREEN POWER.

    Andreas was Chairman and CEO of TANEO, the Hellenic Republic's New Economy Fund of Funds. He is on the Board of Directors of a number of NGOs involved in education, children at risk and the Patriarchate of Constantinople. He is a member of the International Council of the Belfer Centre at Harvard University and was President of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He has also served on the Board of United Biscuits PLC, the U.K.'s largest biscuit manufacturer, Derayah a leading independent investment firm in Saudi Arabia, and Probank. He was a Trustee of Bankers Trust's Pension fund and Chairman of the Hellenic Bankers Association of the UK.

    Andreas has a BA from Harvard University, an MA in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School.
  • Markos Komondouros
    Markos Komondouros had a 15-year career at S.G.Warburg/UBS covering all aspects of equity and debt-raising in the international capital markets and M&A advisory work before co-founding Vector Partners in 2006. Following stints in London and Paris, where he was involved in privatisations and capital raising, Markos moved to Istanbul and set up the bank's Turkish office.

    He remained in Turkey for 5 years, as country head for Turkey, growing the business across all areas, with particular emphasis on cross-border investments into Turkey. Later Markos established and ran UBS' European support services sector team, based out of London, growing it into a major business and revenue stream. After leaving UBS in 2003, Markos continued his advisory work actively in the UK, Greece and Turkey.

    Markos is a non-executive board member of Nireas and CD Media, and has also served on the boards of Probank, before its dissolution, and TANEO before its acquisition by ETEAN. He is also actively involved with METAdrasi, a Greek NGO promoting rational systems for the management of migration flows.

    Markos has a B.Sc in Mathematics form Imperial College, an MBA from London Business School and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Birkbeck College. He speaks English Greek, Turkish, French, Spanish and Italian.
  • Marika Rella
    Marika Rella counts more than 18 years in investment banking. She started her career with UBS in London, where she worked between 2000 and 2003. She covered the Building Materials & Construction and Capital Goods sectors, with her work focusing mainly on M&A advisory work and strategic analyses.

    Upon her return to Greece, she joined Boston Consulting Group before moving to the Ministry of Economy & Finance as an advisor to the Special Secretary for Privatisation. Marika’s work there involved reviewing, evaluating and prioritising possible privatization candidates and providing support and advice throughout the privatization process. The transactions she was involved with were both equity-market and M&A based and concerned the gaming, telecoms and banking sectors. (Placement of OPAP shares, IPO of PSB, Sale of Emporiki Bank to Credit Agricole, ABB of NBG shares).

    She joined Vector Partners in 2008. In the context of using business skills for social cause, she has been involved with Myrtillo Café, a Social Co-operative Enterprise helping children with autism and is also a member of the "Diavazo gia tous allous - reading for others" volunteer group.

    Marika graduated from the London School of Economics with a First Class Honours in B.Sc. Economics, holds an M.Phil. in Finance from the University of Cambridge and has recently obtained a Diploma in Integrative Counseling from Athens Synthesis Center (approved by COSCA). She speaks Greek, English and French.
  • Maria Stathakopoulou
    Maria Stathakopoulou is an experienced project Coordinator with over 10 years of experience in international business environments. She provided organizational and operational support for the 2004 Athens Olympics as part of the Athens Olympics Committee and similarly for the 2006 Doha Asian Games, while stationed in Qatar. From 2006 to 2013 while at Siemens, she was involved with a number of projects including the training of 4000 users on Siemens security systems, the creation, organization and management of an electronic documentation system as well as being responsible for the administration of highly sensitive security documentation. Finally, she has also offered first level translation services to the Greek ministry of Public Order. She joined Vector Partners in 2014.

    Maria graduated from the University of Derby, UK with BA in business administration, and holds a MSc in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, UK. She speaks Greek, English and Arabic.
